Consular Legalization

Overview: Embassy/Consular Legalization – official authentication and certification (attestation) of a UAE official document by the Embassy/Consulate of a foreign country in the UAE, which confirms that the document has full legal effect and may be used in that foreign country.

Personal presence: Not required

Content:

• The original document
• Statement of the Embassy/Consulate that the document is authentic (true)
• Date of certification
• Signature of the Embassy/Consulate officer
• Stamp of the Embassy/Consulate

Embassy/Consular legalization is required when you need to use a UAE official document outside the UAE, in a foreign country.
